A Warm Welcome at Our First Spark Pregnancy Social

We were delighted to host our very first Spark Pregnancy Social on Wednesday 14th January, and it was a truly lovely evening. Expectant parents came together in a relaxed and welcoming space to chat, share experiences, and connect with others who are on a similar journey.

The session was filled with gentle conversation, mutual support, and plenty of reassurance – exactly what we hoped the Pregnancy Socials would offer. It was wonderful to see new connections forming and to hear parents supporting one another in such a natural and encouraging way.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make our first Pregnancy Social so special. We are really looking forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces to our next session on Wednesday 11th February.

Pregnancy Support at Spark

Spark provides community-based pregnancy support for parents-to-be, offering a welcoming, non-judgemental environment where people can connect, share experiences, and access early help. Our support is non-clinical, meaning we do not offer medical advice, but we are here to provide emotional support, reassurance, and signposting to relevant local services.

Our Pregnancy Socials are relaxed and informal sessions focused on peer connection and building confidence during pregnancy. They can be especially helpful for parents who may be feeling isolated, anxious, or in need of additional community support.

More Support for You and Your Baby

In addition to our Pregnancy Socials, Spark also runs:

  • Breastfeeding Support Group – every Friday afternoon from 1:30pm–2:30pm. These sessions offer a supportive space for parents to share experiences, ask questions, and connect with others at a similar stage of their feeding journey.
  • Spark Baby & Children’s Bank – providing free or low-cost baby clothes, toys, and essential items for families during pregnancy and beyond. The Baby Bank is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10am–12pm, and enquiries can be sent to babybank@sparkburntwood.org.

We’re also excited to be hosting a Bumps and Baby Fayre on Friday 9th May, bringing together a range of local services and organisations to support expectant and new parents. This will be a fantastic opportunity to meet local providers, gather information, and feel more confident about the support available in the community.

If you’re expecting and looking for a friendly, informal space to connect with others, we’d love to welcome you to Spark.
